8-6-18 Red Tide Effects for Sanibel & Captiva Islands
Red Tide is all around the Southwest Coast of Florida including Sanibel & Captiva Islands. East winds are pushing it offshore now and helping to break it up. The city of Sanibel has been removing dead fish from the beach.
Despite all of that, I am finding fish to catch and areas largely unaffected in the bays and booking trips. Call if you have questions on the conditions at the present time. We are in the 10th pushing ll months of this red tide event. Rarely if ever has one exceeded 12 months. The fishery will recover relatively quickly as it has done for eons.
8-10-18 update — the bays are alive again with Bait and Birds. Book your trip now. there is little pressure from other fisherman and the fish are hungry.
